Roles include
  • Client: a piece of computer hardware or software that accesses a service made available by a server.
  • Server: is a system (software and suitable computer hardware that responds to requests across a computer network to provide or help to provide a network service.
  • Email server: a message transfer agent or mail transfer agent or mail relay is a software that transfers electronic messages from one computer to another using a client-server application architecture.
  • DNS server: A domain name server is a computer server that hosts a network service for providing responses to queries against a directory service. Functions to translate the human memorable domain names and host names into corresponding numeric internet protocol.
  • Router: is a device that forwards data packets between computer networks, creating an overlay inter-network.
  • Firewall: is a software of hardware-based security system that controls the incoming and outgoing network traffic by analyzing the data packets and determining whether they should be allowed through or not, based on a rule set.
